Discord Auto Chat Members

Members solve the count. Voice solves the sidebar. Neither solves the thing that actually makes a server feel dead, which is opening the general channel and finding the last message was eleven days ago.

That is the moment people leave. Not when they see the member count, but when they scroll and there is nothing to scroll through.

Where the messages come from

By default, conversation is drawn from a general pool collected from busy public communities — the ordinary back-and-forth of an active server rather than anything topic-specific.

You can also name a specific channel to source from. We collect from that channel instead, so the chat in your server matches its subject matter and vocabulary. That costs twice the standard rate, because it is a collection job done for one customer rather than a pool reused across everyone.

Pick the custom source when your server has a distinct subject — a game, a language, a niche. General-pool chatter in a server about one specific game will read as off-topic to anyone actually reading it.

What it does and does not do

It fills the scroll. A visitor sees a channel with recent conversation and forms the impression that people are here. That impression is what buys you the time for real members to start talking.

It does not answer questions, react to what your members say, or hold a conversation with anyone. If a real member replies to one of these messages, nothing comes back. Think of it as set dressing, not staff.

Getting the volume right

• Match your sizeTwo hundred messages a day in a thirty-member server does not read as busy, it reads as odd.
• Favour steady over burstyA handful of messages spread through the day beats forty in one hour.
• Pick the right channelGeneral chat, not announcements. Nobody expects announcements to be busy.
• Taper it offOnce real conversation starts, reduce it. The goal is to become unnecessary.
